TVR Typhons at Goodwood 2011

In the late 1990s Peter Wheeler began to formulate his dream to see TVR racing at Le Mans.

And so began his program to build a carbon composite + spaceframe car, CAD designed to be stable at >200MPH on the Mulsanne Straight.

From this race program was born TVR’s ultimate road car:

Typhon was the last son of Gaia, fathered by Tartarus, and the most deadly monster of Greek mythology. He was known as the “Father of all monsters”.

There has been much written about the TVR Typhon which is not quite correct. This is a result of a steady evolution of the original concept and also confusion during the debacle that was the sale and demise of TVR.

This site has been set up by the owners of the three TVR Typhons with an intent to formalise the most accurate history and details of these unique cars.

We have spoken with the engineers and factory workers behind these cars, owners of the race cars and other parties who were involved in this project and will continue to add to this site as we learn more about these very special cars.

If you have additional information on these cars or notice an error on the site, please do let us know.
